Exploring the behavior of social networking.
The Reason
What reasons do we have for wanting to study this so thoroughly?
After considering the data and discussing the usage patterns of Myspace, some interesting questions arose.
- Does the number of comments a user sends reflect how many they receive?
- How do friends in the non virtual realm interact in a virtual one?
- Do real life friends take the time to comment on each other's pages?
- Are real life friends typically in the "top 8" of each other's profiles?
- Do non virtual friends take the time to comment on each others virtual selves?
- What does this say about the differences between "virtual" and "real" friendships
- Does the number of friends in the virtual reflect that of the real in any way?
- If the above catagories can be broken down into seperate groups, do these groups have similar cultural interests and demographics?
CommenTree attempts to explore these questions in depth through a visually exciting interface.
